Breakdown of costs for trip to Liege, Belgium 9.08.10 - 13.08.10
Training for the 5 days with Junior-100 euros per person.
Accomodation-we are still waiting to negotiate a deal with the Ibis, Liege of a package for a group booking where breakfast is included at the room price-if you book online you always have to purchase breakfast seperately –there is no other way of doing it.
Current rate if booked 20 days in advance and prepaid via credit card is £52.50 per night-£209.99 for the 4 nights.
This is for a standard double room. Should you require breakfast it is £12.46 extra per day-a further £62.30 for the 5 days. Children under 11 pay £6.23 (half price) £31.00 for the 5 days.
You also have the option of paying for your room on arrival at the hotel but please be aware you will be charged at the higher rate of £57.84 per night £231.35 for the 4 nights-however in peak season this could be a lot higher so if you do wish to pay on arrival do bear this in mind.
All charges for the breakfast as quoted above is extra on top of your room rate-however breakfast is optional!!!
Eurostar prices are higher than last year and the current approximate price for an adult is £90 return, child up to 11 years of age £60 and a youth 12-25 is approx. £65. All of these prices are guides only for the eurostar and may fluctuate up or down due to availability and times of trains so therefore until your seat is booked and confirmed no price can be guaranteed.
Once in Brussels we need to get a connecting train to liege. Your Eurostar ticket is valid on this journey so no further ticket purchases need to be made-this applies on the inbound journey as well.
The Ibis hotel do offer single, double, triple and the odd family room-you need to request your preference when booking otherwise you will get a standard double-again this is also down to availability.
Please note all of the above costings given are a rough guide only to try and help you budget for this trip-none of the above are confirmed or definite prices until you have booked.the only costing that is confirmed is the price of the training with junior.
This year we are asking everyone to book their Eurostar and hotel independantly. That way we are not having to chase up monies or complicate matters with everyones own individual requests etc.
We are happy to tell you which Eurostar we will be getting and obviously hope that everyone will stay in the same hotel as it is very centrally located, apart from that the booking process is down to you!!
Please make sure that you allow enough spending money as Junior provides lunch each day normally a pasta dish with a drink for 5 euros each-otherwise you are welcome to bring your own food. Again this is on a daily basis.food and meals are expensive and you will also need to purchase a ticket for the bus journey to and from the dojo each day and also from the station to the hotel. You can purchase a carte agglo for 6.50 euros. This gives you 8 journeys so everytime you board the bus you pop the card in the machine and it registers one journey-obviously you will need more than one of these especially if you are a family or more than one!
Eating out in Belgium is very expensive for example a plate of spaghetti bolognaise is approx. 10 euros again this fluctuates dependant on where you eat. There are McDonalds and Pizza Hut nearby but due to the poor exchange rate can be more expensive than the UK.
We hope that this gives you a better insight to costings etc for this trip. Any questions or queries please email or ring sat.
