Sensei Jack’s teaching style is interactive, engaging and genuinely funny, while always remaining technically precise.

He has an incredible eye for detail and will spot things in your technique that you didn’t even realise you were doing. Even better, he has a way of pointing them out that will usually make you laugh first — and then immediately understand how to correct them.

His technical knowledge of karate is superb, particularly when it comes to kata and bunkai, and he has a real ability to explain complex details in a way that makes sense.

Sensei Jack can effortlessly teach a class of both children and adults, finding exactly the right tone for each while bringing in his knowledge and experience at just the right moment.

His dedication and commitment to karate are exceptional, but his teaching remains very personal, relaxed and approachable. The result is a class that is technically excellent, but also genuinely enjoyable to be part of.
